Some people who have been infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 can experience long-term effects from their infection, known as post-COVID conditions (PCC) or long COVID. Post-COVID conditions can include a wide range of ongoing health problems that may last weeks, months, or years. Symptoms may be respiratory, heart-related, neurological, digestive, or more generalized. This resource page will provide resources for people who may be experiencing long COVID, information about the prevention of long COVID, and guidance for healthcare providers about the assessment and management of post-COVID conditions. 

Rent & Utility Assistance

Caroline County provides access to emergency rent and utility assistance for those who have experienced job loss or financial hardship directly or indirectly related to COVID-19 and who meet certain eligibility requirements. To receive help, complete the Maryland Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) application through the Maryland Rural Development Corporation. The application contains full details on eligibility, what funding assistance ERAP can provide, and required documentation.

Legal Assistance

Mid Shore Pro Bono has been contracted by Caroline County to provide legal assistance at no cost to those that have civil legal issues as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Mid-Shore Pro Bono is a nonprofit organization that supports and assists individuals and families who are unable to afford representation in civil legal matters and provides connections to community services. The Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) gives full health benefits to children up to age 19. Apply online at Maryland Health Connection.
