Important Changes to Communication Tempo and Contact Tracing

Updated: Apr 7

As the number of positive cases of COVID-19 increases, the County is changing its public notification process. We will no longer provide notification of new cases on a rolling basis. Instead, we will update the number of new cases daily at 10:00 AM. This notification will be made on the Department of Emergency Services Facebook page and the County’s COVID-19 website.

The map on the front page of this website will also be updated daily shortly after 10:00 AM. We, as the local jurisdiction, often receive data of local testing results before that data rolls up to the state level. Therefore, there may be differences between the state map and the data we report in the banner below. The data in the banner is the most current available as of approximately 10:00 AM that day.

The Health Department will be focusing staff time and resources on preparing to address outbreaks and provide greater direct support to long-term care facilities, group homes, and other similar facilities.

SIGN UP FOR EMERGENCY ALERTS

Caroline County uses the CodeRED alert system to notify residents in emergency situations. We encourage ALL residents to sign up. However, it is particularly important if you only use a cell phone. By signing up, you grant permission to Caroline County government and its allied agencies to contact you via email, text, or voice call in the event of an emergency.
