Federalsburg Elementary School will be the site for a specialized COVID-19 community testing event on May 2 . Testing is for those who live in the Federalsburg area and work in a poultry plant or live with someone who does.

Testing will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and again from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. There is no cost to be tested and insurance is not required. Advance appointments are not required. Walk-up and drive-through testing will be available. There will be Kreyl and Spanish translators on site to help. Masks are required to be worn on the test site.

In order to be tested, all adults must meet screening criteria. Each adult will need to bring a photo ID and proof of Maryland residency. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Everyone is asked to wear a face mask.

This is not a general COVID-19 testing of the community. Test kits have been prioritized by the State for poultry workers and their families who live in the Federalsburg area.

If you do not work in the industry and are experiencing symptoms, please contact your primary care provider, who can screen and provide testing if necessary. If you are experiencing severe symptoms now, do not wait until Saturday. Contact your medical provider or Choptank Community Health for immediate testing. If you are having trouble breathing, please call 911 immediately.

To comply with State and Federal privacy laws, photography or filming of the testing site is prohibited. Law enforcement will be onsite to ensure all laws are followed and to ensure the safety of the testing operation.
